Tennessee ( Memphis and Nashville)

Ahhhh Tennessee…..an absolute favorite!!! This is definitely a place with lots to see and we didn’t have a ton of down time but it was well worth it. We spent most of our time in Memphis but also drove to Nashville for a few days. We highly recommend staying at the Guest House at Graceland hotel. It was beautiful and a very short drive to all the attractions we wanted to see. *Side Note*: The Hallmark Channel was filming a Christmas movie with Kelly Pickler during our stay so it was like Christmas in July.

MEMPHIS Places not to miss: Graceland– awesome ( don’t forget to sign the wall) Bass Pro Shop ( seems silly but it was awesome. We even ate at the restaurant on the top floor with views of the Mississippi River! The Lorraine Motel (National Civil Rights Museum) the location of the assasination of Martin Luther King Jr. Beale Street– a street packed with restaurants, shops and live music and amazing street performers. There were a ton of other things to do but there just wasn’t enough time.

NASHVILLEGrand Ole Opry– no explanation needed. The Parthenon..a full scale model of the Parthenon in the middle of Nashville. Very cool. Music Row– the most famous street in Nashville. Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge– we didn’t go in becuase it was packed but we wished we had the chance. Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum.

If you’re driving between Memphis and Nashville you have to stop at The Tennessee Safari Park and Rusty’s TV and Movie Car Museum. They weren’t on our orginal travel to do list but we are so happy we stopped at both of these places. Love it when a travel adventure takes a u turn!
