Novara Restaurant, Milton MA

Milton Massachusetts is home to a chic spot that serves a modern take on Northern Italian Pasta, and Pizza. Novara made the news when Giselle Bundchen ( Tom Brady’s wife) was visiting and stopped in to eat. We figured that if it was good enough for her, it was good enough for a Two Girls Spooning visit! LOL!

This review is quite a bit late, as we visited Novara on New Year’s Eve. Unfortunately, work and life get in the way of updating the blog but I’m slowly getting caught up. The good news is that summer vacation is here so I will get back to blogging consistently, with a large list of restaurants to try.

We made a reservation for 7:00 and we were seated right away. The interior boasts clean lines with warm brown tones, exposed beams and heating ducts. The words modern industrial come to mind.

As we were seated, my mouth began watering as the aromatics of the restaurant took over my senses! Everything on the plates around us looked and smelled fantastic! We knew we were in for a great meal.

Novara offers a good selection of appetizers and I really wanted to try the lemon rosemary wings but I knew we were having wings on New Year’s Day so we opted for the Calamari ($16). If you’re a frequent flyer to our blog you will notice that we tend to eat Calamari often. I would love to try other apps but my Crohn’s limits my selections in many cases and Jessica always feel bad, so we usually choose something I can eat.

As we were looking at the dinner menu, I knew it wouldn’t be an easy decision. When I’m indecisive I will do my best to ( as inconspicuously as possible) take a look around the tables to see if anyone around us ordered a dish that I’m considering. I was torn between chicken marsala, and chicken piccata when it happened……….just when I thought I had it set in my mind….the aroma of braised short ribs($30) wafts by my nose and I’m smitten!! Ok…Twist my arm.

Served over a fluffy bed of potato gnocchi, the fork tender short rib was nothing short of fantastic! A bold, savory red wine reduction had me wanting to lick the plate clean, but I was vetoed by Jessica……she’s no fun!!!!! 😉 Definitely at the top of my list for braised ribs!!!

Jessica opted for the Seafood Scampi ($34) and she was in seafood heaven!! A tastefully balanced lemon, white wine, and garlic sauce were the perfect compliment to the shrimp, scallops and lobster. Enveloped with linguini and topped with shaved parmesan, this rated high on Jessica’s list!

At this point we were both full but I’m not a quitter so I was on the to the dessert menu….Jessica couldn’t keep up so she decided to pass on dessert.

This beautiful chocolate mousse cake ($9) with a berry compote was a perfect way to finish off a great meal! The cake was light, the mousse was just sweet enough not to overpower the dessert, and you absolutely can’t go wrong with berries and chocolate!!!!

From start to finish Novara checks off all the boxes! The atmosphere, apps, entrees and desserts were all top notch and we will definitely be back. Hey maybe we will meet Tom and Giselle there and they can be guest “Spooners”!!!! LOL!

If you’re looking for a great dining experience, set your GPS to 556 Adams Street in Milton, Ma and tell them Two Girls Spooning sent you! Reservations highly recommended. https://novararestaurant.com/

Happy Spooning!
