HighFlyer Zip Line At Foxwoods

Have you ever thought about ziplining off a 33 story hotel tower? Well, to be honest, I haven’t either but there’s a first time for everything!! For my birthday this year I wanted to try the HighFlyer Zipline at Foxwoods. The HighFlyer is the biggest zipline in Connecticut and the only zipline in America that starts from atop a hotel 33 stories high.

We began by checking in at our reservation time ( 2:30) and getting our wristbands. A little after 2:30, our guide came to take us up the 33 floors to the equipment station to get our harnesses and watch a brief safety video.

Once we were all set, we were taken outside and walked up another 5 sets of stairs to the launching pad, 350 ft off the ground!!! It was awesome! The Fox woods tower rooftop provides the most amazing views of Connecticut, and on a clear day you can see all the way to Long Island Sound.

When it was our turn to launch, Jess and I had to climb up a few more steps to reach the safety staff where they triple checked our equipment and made sure we were ready to go. We only had a minute to take pictures before we had to put them away and this was yet another time that I wish I had a GoPro!!! PSA…if you have any fear of heights at all, this is NOT the activity for you. Once the staff was given the clear signal from the finish line we were given the countdown 3…2…1…. and off we went!! What a rush!!! After a slight drop, reaching speeds of between 50-60 mph made the almost one mile ride down the zipline simply awesome. I tried to take in all the views and looked down a few times to see if I could see any animals below the treeline, but I was moving too fast. Before I knew it, I was at the bottom and Jess was right behind me. It was a quick ride and honestly I wish we could have gone down again.

Once we were at the bottom we were unhooked from our gear and waited for the courtesy shuttle to take us back to the starting area in Foxwoods. Professional pictures were taken but at $25 a piece, we didn’t think they were worth it. Please note that this is not an activity for the faint hearted , you have to sign a waiver before you ride, especially if you have certain medical condtions. At $154.00 for the two of us, this isn’t an inexpensive activity but if you like heights and ziplining, this is one for you!!!!

While we were at Foxwoods we did some people watching and had stopped for a quick bite at Top Golf. Jessica had a slice of pizza and we both LOVED the General Zso chicken wings! Nothing fancy on the menu but a great place to grab a quick bite and play some old school video games.

After leaving Foxwoods it was time to head back toward home with a stop at Flemings’s Prime Steakhouse and Winebar in Providence for dinner. We have been to Fleming’s on many occasions and never had a bad meal. They are always consistent and the staff is nothing short of fantastic!! They not only put a candle in my dessert but the staff signed a birthday card and the manager brought over a gift box with 4 chocolate truffles. Happy Birthday to me !!!! LOL!

If you’re an adrenaline junkie we highly recommed the HighFlyer Zipline at Foxwoods and if you’re looking to have a great dinner give Fleming’s a try…… you won’t be disspointed! Fleming’s also offers Valet parking which is always a bonus when dining out in Providence! https://www.flemingssteakhouse.com/Locations/RI/Providence https://foxwoodshighflyer.com/
