Canada
If you haven’t been to Niagara Falls, be sure to add it to your list of must see places. It has changed such much from when I went as a kid. We were only there for a few days so there is much more to do than what we have here….be sure to do some research before going and don’t forget your passport!!!
WHERE TO STAY– Embassy Suites By Hilton Niagara Falls’- Fallsview We were upgraded to a room on an upper floor overlooking the falls and it was amazing! There are many hotels in the area so I don’t think you can make a bad choice. We really enjoyed dining at the top of Hotel at the Keg Steakhouse and Bar. Phenominal food with an amazing view!! There is also a TGIFriday’s on site.
THINGS TO DO ( In no particular order)
- Maid of the Mist– gives you an up close and personal view of the Falls. I am NOT a fan of boats but I popped a dramamine and jumped on. You don’t feel any motion on the boat and you get the most spectacular view ( don’t worry about getting wet, you will get a poncho when boarding)
- Niagara Parks Botanical Garden and Butterfly Conservatory- you will be surounded by beautiful flowers and butterflies. Who doesn’t love that?
- Journey Behind The Falls– a walking tour that takes you literally behind the Falls and provides a completly different experience that everyone should see.
- Cave of the Winds- you will take an elevator down 175 ft into the Niagara Gorge. This will take you within feet of the Bridal Veil Falls. From here you will witness the powerful rush of the water up close.
- Whirlpool Aero Car- this “car” will take you over the Niagara Whirlpool across a one kilometer section of the river.
- Funicular (Incline Railway)- this rail will take you up and down along the 18,000 year old Niagara Gorge.
- Zip Lining- This is a relatively new activity at the Falls. It wasn’t available in 2015 but I’m sure this is something that we would have done. Be sure to add this to your adventure list!
Canada in 2015…… an experience we will never forget!
