Bettola
Jessica and I love it when we find a great spot just by chance, and that’s exactly what happened when we stumbled on Bettola!
Located at 44 Rolfe Square in Cranston Rhode Island, Bettola immediately caught my eye as we were driving with a sign that says “Voted Best Pizza in Rhode Island”! Now, I don’t know who voted, but does it really matter? I love pizza and I needed to see if the voting was rigged or not. Let’s just call it research for the readers 🙂 You can thank us later. 🙂
The atmosphere definitely gives off a retro pizza joint feel, and one that makes me think that Bettola is the local hot spot. We were visiting during lunch time and seated right away at a booth that had a TV above on the Game Show Network playing a very old episode of The Match Game. Loved it!

As we sat down I realized that I had a perfect few of the pizza oven and could see the fresh dough being hand tossed…..such a beautiful sight!
After perusing the menu, Jessica and I agreed that we would share a pizza and each get an entree so we could try more than one thing. Bettolas menu also includes appetizers, salads and sandwiches but we also had dinner plans that night so we didn’t want to eat too much. I hate having self control! LOL!
Along with their signature pizza’s, Bettola also has a build your own pizza option with some great possibilities. Along with choosing from a myriad of toppings you can also choose from 3 pizza sauces; pink vodka, red classic, and bianco sauce. So many choices but we choose the classic red sauce, half cheese and half shaved steak ($19).
I can now say that I can completely agree with the voters in saying that it is an absolutely fantastic pizza!!!
The crust was perfect ( for us anyway) not undercooked and not overcooked. The hot, flowing mozzarella cheese sat on top a sweet (but not too sweet) sauce, and the seasoned shaved steak reminded me of eating a Philly Cheesesteak. After 2 bites I told Jessica that we would need to come back here and we hadn’t even tried our entrees.

Jessica chose the stuffed shells ($17) and I opted for the lasagna ($18). Both were fantastic! Jessica’s shells were oozing with ricotta herb cheese, garlic sauteed spinach, and mozzarella cheese. My lasagna had just the right balance of beef, ricotta, pecorino, basil and mozzarella cheese. Nothing frozen here, just Italian comfort food at it’s best. The only downside we could find was that the entree portions were a bit small but given that we ordered a pizza, we left full and satisfied. We did take some pizza home and it was just as good the next day in the air fryer. Now that’s a win for sure! 🙂
We both thoroughly enjoyed Bettola. I have no doubt that we will be back soon to try some apps and other items on the menu. They do offer kids portions and gluten free pasta as well, so that’s great for our gluten free friends. I also want to mention that Bettola has outdoor seating, a full bar, parking, and is wheelchair accessible.
Although Bettola isn’t exactly “local” for us, the 37 minute ride is worth every bite. If you want to give it a try don’t forget that we enjoy having guest spooners….so we will meet you there!
Seriously, we think you will enjoy Bettola and we hope you will support local and give them a try. Oh ya, don’t forget to tell them that Two Girls Spooning sent ya!
Happy Spooning!
Sara and Jess 🙂
